Usernames, Passwords, and Privacy
You must create an Icarus Project account and log-in to post any comments or send any private messages. Your information will be kept completely confidential, but!!! if you don’t want anyone to see your real name, do not enter it in your member profile and
DO NOT ENTER YOUR REAL NAME AS YOUR USERNAME unless you want people to see your full name.
Once a username has been created, it cannot be changed.
If you want a different username later, you will have to create another account with another e-mail address. For technical reasons, we can only allow one username per e-mail address
Please Write Down Your Username and Password!
Lost Passwords and Usernames
If you remember your username but have forgotten your password, enter your username into the log-in box and click the “Lost My Password” button.
If you have forgotten your username, send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org with the e-mail address you used to create your account and we will try to find your username for you.
Changing Passwords and Usernames
Currently you need to e-mail email@example.com to retrieve your password. We will have automated password retrieval by the end of August.
We will never sell, rent, or share your e-mail address with anyone. Your e-mail address will not be displayed anywhere on our wite. The only way other Icarus Project members can get your e-mail address is if they send you a private message and ask for it.
Notifications and Icarus Project Mass E-Mails
If you were a member of the old version of our website, you are signed up to receive very infrequent mass e-mails by default. If you would like to change this preference, please visit your member profile page, which can be accessed from the right-hand navigation bar of any page when you are logged in.
For information about turning notifications on or off, please visit our notifications page.
