Millions of people world-wide agree to take psychotropic drugs once they gain insight into their illness. This proves that these drugs work. There is only resistance amongst people while they are having a psychotic episode.

Sometimes the illness is so severe that people can only get better through such treatments as hospitalisation and electro-shock therapy, which helps to wipe the memory clear so the person can start with a clean fresh slate.

There are side-effects of psychotropic drugs, but psychiatrists have to weigh up the balance of what is in the best interests of the community. These people are potentially dangerous. They are not thinking logically. They are not making sense. They could do anything. That is what is so dangerous about letting these people be fully active. It is best to keep them sedated most of the day, that way they have less time to commit any crimes.

If the patient thinks they are worse off on the medication, it means their psychosis is severe and their dose needs to be increased. This may result in a coma or epilepsy or chronic twitching, but once again we have to weigh up what’s more important, the health of the patient or the safety of the community.

Considering that most patients would most likely suicide if left untreated, their resultant osteoporosis or Tardive Dyskinesia from the medication is better than death. Left untreated most patients become public nuisances and die of their own hand. If they are treated we can stop this before the patient even thinks about it.

It is important to keep the population in line. So people should be alert to anyone who behaves oddly. Reporting those people to psychiatric services will not only save that person’s life but potential lives of other people within the population, whom the psychotic person might harm. If psychiatric services can nip these things in the bud before they even become a problem, we can rid society of so many ills caused by mental disorders. Thought policing is the way of a safe and healthy future!
