Join the Icarus 10th Anniversary Video Project!
Submitted by scatter on Wed, 08/08/2012 - 3:33pmThe Icarus Project is looking for video entries to be featured in an upcoming 10th anniversary web video currently in production. The vision is to have a montage of faces and voices each reading one of their favorite lines from an Icarus Project publication, meeting agreements, mission statement, conversations on the website, lines from Crooked Beauty, or anywhere that has been inspiring to you.
If you want to participate:
Right now there are videographers in New York City, San Francisco, Minneapolis, and Portland who are planning to shoot footage in the next couple weeks. Get in touch and we’ll connect you to the people working on the ground.
If you’re planning on shooting any footage on your own, it would be helpful to have it shot in HD (1920x1080) at 24fps. For submissions, data DVDs with uncompressed footage would be best. You can send those to 237 East 5th Street, New York, NY 10003. If you’d like to submit your footage over the internet, please send it uncompressed over a file sharing service anniversary@theicarusproject.net (if it must be compressed having it in H.264 would be good).
You can shoot in a location of your choosing (a quiet one preferably). In addition, you could include some more abstract visual imagery that goes with the theme.
This is also a wonderful opportunity to bring together others in your area involved with the Icarus Project to collaborate: organize a video making event in your town. Spread the word!
We’re looking to have all footage in by late August. Write to us with questions and ideas: anniversary@theicarusproject.net
Thanks and best!
